Wife and I were talking after the ball dropped about how much we were glad to see 2011 go. One hell of a year.
Parents spent more than 280 days with either one or both in the hospital. My brother is laying up in a bed in Orlando waiting on a liver transplant. One of my best friends is watching his daughter disappear in front of his eyes due to that monster cancer....
And then I realized how blessed we really were.
I'm not big into resolutions. In the immortal words of Yoda (and Jimmy), either do or do not, there is no try.
So for this year, the focus for my family is real simple.
Attitude determines altitude.
We will choose to look at our blessings.
God bless each and everyone.

- Instead of complaining about all the trips to the hospital need to remember we could have had a funeral in February when dad pulled thru another surgery he had no business surviving.
- Instead of bitching about another trip to rehab have to remember we could have had to bury my Mom along with a young couple and their child in April when she drove the wrong way on a local street.
- Instead of asking why God should a little child have to suffer, we should celebrate her courage, spirit and the fact she is using her affliction to help OTHER kids, raising thousands for research.
