What a freakin bummer. I was so pumped at half time. What a joke, what was I thinking. The difference between USA and Brazil (besides Brazil being 10 times better) when the US were up they were shocked and nervous. Brazil was like, yea we get a challenge, score 3 goals in the 2nd half. WOW. I would have had every guy back to defend when you are up 2 to 0 vs Brazil.

It was a nice run. I am not a soccer guy, but i really wanted that win.

i've watched every game of the tournament....

the U.S. started so badly we needed a miracle to advance to the semi-finals. we had to beat egypt by 3 goals, and italy had to lose by three goals...it happened

after that, all we had to do was beat the european champion, and number one in the world, spain.... we did, 2-0

and then to go up 2-0 at halftime to brazil, only to lose.......

I don't know about Brazil being 10x better. The U.S. was the better team in the first half and we played this game without our best midfield player (Michael Bradley). It seemed to me the difference really was in depth - we couldn't bring anyone from the bench to change the flow of the game in the 2nd half. And Spector in my mind looks a bit shaky at right full.

Overall it was still a good run. Even the Italy game - we were up 1-0 before we went a man down because of that questionable red card.

We have reserves in the Gold Cup but a big test coming up in WC qualifying at Mexico City . . .

I look at the USA Brazil game like the Movie The Great White Hype. Here you have a great Champion in James Roper (Damon Waynes) represents Brazil. The young Hard working Challenger Terry Conklin (Peter Berg) represents the USA. Roper (Brazil) He did not take the fight seriously. He ate bad, drnak alot and gained a ton of weight (I am sure brazil partied their ass off the night before). In the 1st half of the fight Conklin (USA) was taking it to Roper (Brazil), Then Conklin (USA) hit Roper pretty hard (2 goals in the 1st half). Then before you could go to the bathroom Roper Knocked out Conklin (Brazil scoring 3 goals in no time).

I really hope they can return and play well in the qualifers for the WC.
