  • DFS Football blog

I've been playing DFS for the past two years and have learned a lot regarding fantasy football. I've always enjoyed my season long leagues, but I feel the challenge of DFS is much greater and trying to figure out the puzzle that is DFS has got me hook. Last year I was able to get on the LeVeon and David Johnson train earlier enough that I had a lot of success last year. This year has been down as I've been basically trying to copy the lineup strategy from last year that isn't working this year. My plan for this blog is to highlight my DK lineup on sunday morning and try to write a process analysis on monday. I'd welcome all comments and interactions, I love talking fantasy football and have no problem with criticism

90% of my contest I play are H2H's so that's what i'll focus on in this thread. I'll also just keep it to DK as I like the site much more than Fanduel even though I play some over there.

    QB Brady
    RB Hunt
    RB Thompson
    WR Ellington
    WR Crowder
    WR M. Thomas
TE Kelce (This is probably my biggest concern with the wind looking like a factor)
    Flex C. Thompson
    DST Ravens

I'm not thrilled about plugging in Gronk for Kelce but that's what I may end up doing

I did end up putting in Gronk instead of Kelce and it was the difference between a winning and losing week sadly. I won 42% of my head to head's so not a horrible week but given how many of my calls were pretty solid I felt it should have been better.

How I ended up on Brady:

I typically don't pay for expensive QBs but with Burkhead, Ellington and Crowder in pretty safe rolls and all extremely cheap it was easy to pay up for the no question #1 QB.

      RB's

At the start of the week I was pretty locked onto Burkhead and viewed him as a must play. his salary was so cheap even his sub par game basically met salary expectations. Kareem Hunt I thought as a 9 point favorite with extreme winds in the forecast was also basically a must play. Hunt hasn't been playing on 3rd down or in hurry up situations so I knew there was so risk but I couldn't believe he only had 4 carries at halftime. I ended up playing Chris Thompson as what I felt was decent value I certainly didn't feel he was a lock but I figured the redskins would be trailing the major of the game and Thompson would have lots of work in that situation.

      WR's

Ellington was priced at minimum salary and was another I basically locked into early in the week. With Hopkins matched up against Peterson and Ellington having 8 targets in each of the past two weeks it was easy call. Crowder was another option that seemed priced too low. Crowder had averaged 10 targets and 5 catches over the past three weeks and I felt the Saints and Redskins had a decent chance to turn into a shootout. Michael Thomas I felt was safe and just thinking he was due for a big game in what I thought could turn into a shootout.

      TE

All week I was on Kelce but the wind forecast was enough to get me off Kelce and onto Gronk who was priced basically the same. Even though I suspected the Pats would smash the Raiders it always a little hard to predict who will score. I thought Gronk was a very good play I just didn't want to have 3 Pats in my lineup.

Def. I had Jags initially but the windy conditions had me worried it would turn into a run, run, run, and punt type game. I felt the Ravens and Chargers were equally as good plays and cheaper.
