In concert with the start of the new NFL season and along with it, the induction of a new Hall of Fame class, I thought this was interesting:
There's a Pro Football Hall of Very Good (http://www.profootballresearchers.or...-very-good.htm) for those players, most all of which probably were considered for the HOF but not elected.
This "hall" obviously has no high-profile induction ceremony, no Hall of Very Good preseason game, and no physical shrine you can visit. But they have some credibility at least to the extent that they've included quality players, have apparently been doing this for a number of years, and, at least on the Wikipedia pages that I've checked for a few of their inductees, have a mention of election to this hall. What's also interesting is that there are no recent players inducted; they apparently wait for a long time before naming a candidate to try to make sure that there's no overlap with Canton. But in fact some of their inductees have been elected to the HOF after they were inducted to the Hall of Very Good.
